  1. #1

    Default antique surgical instruments

anyone collect or know collectors of antique surgical instruments and lab equipment, i may have some to auction or sell and want to know if there is any interest in them. all are in wooden cases and lined some are gold or silver most are from turn of the century onwards.

or at least someone to point me to plkaces where i can check prices would be good.

    thank you all

Yes they can be very sought after. The best price I've ever got for a Victorian surgical knife is £400. An 1880's surgical instrument catalogue got me £314. Value will depend on age and maker. Best do a search on *bay and see if anything similar has been sold recently.

theres nothing much on the other side, mostly new stuff or one or 2 singe items, i am photographing them today and will look at the makers marks and have a look around to see the prices they go for, hopefully will have them listed tonight.

probably list them with low prices or no reserve as it is from an estate sale, and i am going to be getting a lot of other stuff as well.
