Can I be on your list too?...lol! :-)
Hi again, glad to hear of you personal effort to promo ebid,
if only ALL OF US, did something on those lines,
E**Y would have to run 10p listing days every week, just to stop the sellers deserting, share holder profits must be taking a right bashing, and its just what they deserve,

sure this little site is growing now,

I have come to the conclusion that greedbay do not give a fig about anything other than raking in the dosh, regardless of the harrassment received by sellers along the way...As far a customer services is concerned, I really do not know why they have that department as they sure didn't help me....During my quiet time I decided to boost sales by listing some Pc games...I didnt reckon on receiving a mountain of abusive, harrassing & blackmailing emails...The gist of it was the wrapping was damaged on arrival to a customer, NOT the goods..This person demanded 30% refund plus he kept the items or bad feedback would be left...This was after I offered a full refund including original postage paid...Basically customer support answer was: sort it out yourself as they didn't get involved in buyer/seller disagreements...This person DID leave damaging feedback for what? offering a full refund...I suspect he bought the wrong things and was about to make me suffer (2 PC games£40 for £7 used once) and decided he would go for my throat...Anyway, I was determined not to be blackmailed and will put up with the feedback...So to conclude although my items are selling on greedbay I would much rather close up shop and continue with this site, trouble is I need to sell SOMETHING, ANYTHING.

    Hi Bridalstudio,

Completely agree about greedbay by the way!

    Quick question for you:

Do you advertise anywhere else? i.e. your own or anyone elses websites?

As your market is a niche one (ie special occasions), you need to ensure you are constantly bringing fresh customers to your store. Advertise your ebid store URL on bridal directories...

This will cost a fortune I hear you cry! (...is it panto season already.. lol!)

Well actually it wont. There are online bridal directories out there that you can put a link on for FREE! (I love that word!). An online bridal directory is basically a yellow pages for weddings.

If you wanted to get really fancy you could even pay for a listing on a large reputable one. It costs from about £20 a year for a link, description, contact details and a banner. Go with a site that randomly rotates the stores so that you always get a chance of being at the top of the listings (such as www.weddingservices4u.co.uk). The benefits of advertising on these websites is that this one in particular gets over 8,000 hits a day!

My advice though... advertise on all the free ones first, get your sales flying and your profit coming in, then buy a great advertising package out of the profits. You can get them from £35 a year on a large bridal directory (which have 15,000+ hits a day .....and if your on the front page....).

    So how to find them?
Just do a google search for bridal directory / wedding directory. Have a quick look in each site and check if you can list your link for free.

Heres some sites that you can list on for FREE to start you off:

    www.weduk.com

    www.wsn-uk.co.uk

    http://www.excite.co.uk/directory/So...ies_and_Guides

    www.weddingo.co.uk/wedding-directories

http://www.weddingplanner.co.uk/ (free trial for 3 months)

www.wedding-service.co.uk (free sample lising for a month)

also try www.yell.com (add a free listing and put your ebid shop URL as your business name / address - worth a go)

    Hope this helps...

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope its very sucessful for you.

    Kel x

P.s. anyone with a wedding coming up - take a look in bridalstudios shop, everything is GORGEOUS!!! and well priced too!

And while your at it... I've got a sale on ..lol!... nothing to do with weddings though...

I was thinking about advertising with yello. However, as I am an online retailer working from home, I didn't really want my address displayed for obvious reasons. Customers are very welcome to call by appointment, but I would rather not state that as prospective buyers may get the idea that I am ULTRA expensive.
I have had some help from the community member & have taken advise on freebie advertising, plus I do get a lot of hits on my website through google..Hits are not sales though.

    Hey bridalstudio,
I'd love a job in PR! especially anything to do with ebid!

I've been putting flyers in with all my ebay and amazon auctions and just want to let you all know its working! Sold 4 items already from newbies that have been lead here by my flyers and emails.

Keep it simple guys, put your ebid ID at the top, tell them its free to buy and sell, that your auctions on here are cheaper (due to no fees) and pop your ebid shop link at the bottom, if your feeling cheeky also put your buddy link in aswell - it all helps.

Its working, and who knows maybe the next auction they bid on will be yours - give it a try and encourage new buyers from around the world to stay with ebid!

    Oh and bridal,

Can you put your URL address to your shop in yello instead of a place address?

    Just a thought...
