Thread: Does anyone use Zencart for their www site ?

Default Does anyone use Zencart for their www site ?

    Hi

I'm thinking of using Zencart for my website - very impressed with everything I have seen so far - except that before anyone can purchase an item they have to sign in....and I am not aware of a way around this.

Do you think this puts potential customers off purchasing from a website site?

    Thanks

Hi there, i've not really used zencart before however it is open source and im pretty sure you maybe able to get a add on module to allow users to purchase without registering an account.

I know for sure oscommerce is one where you can have a add on module.

    Wow long ago post

Anyway, i use zencart on my site

    www.daisychaincollectables.com

There is a way to import paypal onto your listings to allow a one off purchase, but it gets messy. Although im aware that a few people have tried to code the zencart , so you do not have to sign in to purchase, there is no actual way to do this unless you do the programming yourself.

i think the sign in process, does put people off the site, but at the same time it keeps tracks of their orders, so it is in the customers best interests.

se shoppro perl which just securely emails you the order , you can easily add payment buttons and it intergartes easily with most payment services. my site is down for the moment otherwise i would say check it out.

Default I wouldnt have it any other way

Yes you can add paypal for single transactions but I did have the no sign in and ended up with a lot of fraudulent orders.

Once I had the customers sign in. They stopped and my sales increased.
So for me it was a winner

I have a zencart site ( www.nysasnotions.co.uk )and yes, I believe there is an add-on available to remove the sign in but I don't use it.
With an account it means that the buyers can check on the status of their order or on previous orders, so basically I agree with manstomar
