I have been looking for some myself as i need to design a poster and do not have time to take my own pics as well as oing other stuff.
found this site its cheap, might be of use to you, but you need to register (it free to do so) to browse the pics.

looks very similiar to istockphoto.com which i registered with and am using but with a different selection of images so thats cool i'll register with both
if the poster is just for coursework you could probably use any image you wanted from anywhere... i did, its only when its for commercial use that i pay for them

unfortunately pete that is not the case for me, we have been told that any images we use that arn't our own we must have the right to use them!
If i took my own pics of my pregnant friend i would need to get her to sign a form saying that i could use an image with her in it!!!

It is stupid paying for the rights to use an image, when the rights you are paying for allow you to use the image in a 500,000 print run or in advertising and your paying to use it for you and your tutor in a college/uni project.....
Guess its also good in a way, it teaches you about copyright. We never had that, just used whatever for personal projects....
