    also.....
    The eBid shop could really do with the same listing format available over there, where I can list 20 identical items as a buy now, you buy one the total falls to 19 and so on until hopefully all sold out I was having great succsess with this format I was working just 3 days a week and earning some good money, now I have been made redundant! Well thats what I imagine it feels like. At least I have the first telecoms shop on eBid...Rant over....for now!;-)

    Maybe someone should set up a project of asking us all to sumbit £1 to a account specifiically set up to give ebid some dough to launch just 1-2 adverts on a saturday night.
    Unless , that does require more £1's than i think, but either way i thought it wasnt a bad idea

    I have only voted 4. I am fairly new, although have had one sale. But I still find the pages slow to load. I only managed to list four today when had intended to do a lot more.
    The search categories are difficult Need a POTTERY category please.

    Not enough buyers and the aftersales, invoicing etc is not really very helpful & clear. I would recommend this site but it needs more work to fend off the competition & gain more status.

    i would be willing to donate a £1, do we have enough sellers?

    I also think the shop pages list too many items on one page, the site i find is ok to use, from a buyer's point of view the postage isn't displayed clearly enough (as already mentioned on this thread), the site looks crowded in several areas.

    Apart from that an influx of buyers should get the site on a new role, i would hope real soon but i doubt it before xmas, a few adverts in the christmas build up should do us some real good, not counting on it though.

    Ebid been featured in any magazines lately?

    I voted 6 and for comparison would give ebay 3, and most other auction sites 5. So this is top.

    eBid frustrates me I have to say. I judge auction sites on many things and ebid is by far I think the best auction site going. Top 5 things that would make ebid far better would be;

    1. Not charging for thumbnail auctions - its not a charge based on costs to ebid, plus discouraging thumbnails in listings is bad as it makes shopping for items on the site overall less attractive and easy to grasp. Thats a very serious and fundamental flaw. Thumbnails need to therefore be seriously encouraged, shoppers browsing a list of potential items to buy expect a simple photo and are far more likely to buy if they see one. Sales at ebid would go up if most auctions had a thumbnail, so I dont even think other fee's would have to go up slightly. But bottom line is, thumbnails in listings attract buyers to buy, bringing revenue. Its not a % cost type feature, have no charge, site looks 50x better to buyers, more sales, more revenue.

    2. Better html generating and submitting software or online way even. eBid really needs to get at least somewhere near Turbo Listers WYSIWYG HTML editor, and enable bulk uploading, I'm stunned ebid is still so far behind here, its just poor.

    3. A better and more automatic system for non paying bidders. Another fundamental thing ebid seem to have not gotten right from the start (strangely as its so crucial) and still havent, again, not really acceptable for such an otherwise professional, good, competent auction site.

    4. Importing of feedback, I think this needs looking into, it was possible, now not, unless using a site or whatever. Its a big wall holding back buyers and sellers coming over.

    5. I think given a couple of the above, and having witnessed the same simple improvements being requested time after time, ebid should increase theyre headcount by at least one. Make some of the above improvements and others, revenue will increase, and a 25k a year staff member helping making other improvements such as those above will further accelerate ebid in terms of growth and revenue. This is a truly great site, but improvements and growth, were not even in 3rd gear and nows the time to get into 5th, cos this site has the potential to globally grow significantly.
