Good one! If you change it to say it is for charity then you'll get loads of bids - I'll start you off! It will certainly raise the profile of eBid!

I think we could do a lot for this site if we play it right :-

50% of profit goes to voted on charities (the other will have to go on expenses etc cause it's going to be a lotta lotta hours spent dealing with e-mails etc if all goes according to plan)

Auction part interest in said brain "per cell ???"so that everybody can get a share --more money for charities without just one person cotributing .

A web page on the net with link to the auction ( EBID SITE) showing bidders order of bid :- top comercial bid---top personal bid -- in two columns etc.

I will post more when I get some feedback of you guy's

LAST BUT NOT LEAST MUST GET AGREEMENT OF CURRENT BIDDER'S AND E-BID MANAGERS

    CATCH YOU ALL LATER

Sounds a pretty good idea Madhatter

Im thinking of launching a wave of decent items, at starting bids of 99p, no reserves, no BINS

Would probably help if people have soe old stock to do this with as well, if people see stuff going cheap on here, they willl come flocking

Also Ive been a member of a student site a while now, i m pretty well known on there, I tend to get a lot of new academic books are very cheap prices to sell on ebay

I will be offering the students of the site special discounts starting from 10% upwards off my books when they buy from my Ebid shop, if we all do small incentives like this, im sure people will come to see the site

Im sure people will love this site as it does have huge potential, but the site has two challenges, the first is getting them here, which probably isnt that hard..the second is keeping them here, thats gonna be the hard bit

Madhatter - this is a bit like Alex Tew's million dollar home page idea. I don't know if you have heard of it but he's a young guy from Wiltshire who decided to raise money to fund his university course by advertising pixels on a website for sale. The idea was simple: to try and make $1m (US) by selling 1,000,000 pixels for $1 each and the Million Dollar Homepage was born (BTW he chose dollars because it is basically the internet currency). He auctioned the last 1000 pixels on eBay and they sold for more that $38,000! In less than 5 months he made $1,037,100 and more than 350,000 people visited the website (which looks MUCH worse than eBid's home page BTW LOL!).

If we could create a fraction of that amount of interest in your idea it would be brilliant especially as Alex Tew was not donating money to charity.

    Brill!

to keep it running you have to state very clearly its for auction and which one you dont have to use your brain it could be anything, from fake dog poo to getting a tattoo of e-bid on your a**e then we all got to let everybody know eg radio, papers and word of mouth, then surely e-bid would get some publicity too
talk to gazza and mark it could work in there favour if you guys work together.
    and you could be famous!
people love a charity auction,i would bid if it helped us all and i am sure you would have other supporters

what does anyone else think or feel ?
sorry your auction got pulled it was a right laugh
