Default How can you help raise the profile of eBid?

    Hi,

I get Martin's Money Tips weekly email through www.moneysavingexpert.com where of people often mention they sell things on eBay to help get themselves out of debt.

There is a community forum with a dedicated auction thread and I have just posted there to encourage them to use eBid instead of eBay. See thread #29 at -

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...highlight=eBid

Maybe others can think of other places like this that might help bring in buyers?
Check out my shop at http://uk.ebid.net/stores/The-IKEA-Plus-Shop

    • PLUS - lots of other goodies too!

great idea this place really needs advertising as everyone is saying there are loads of sellers and a lack of buyers but that could change people just need to know its here
I've advertised it on my own forum and some others that I go on, I've also mentioned it to friends
one person on the boards mentioned in the opening post here says that he could not find the postage costs on e.bid , can someone reply and tell him they are on here as I can't post on there as I'm not a member
Yes this site is different to ebay and takes a little getting used to but it is user friendly and everyone is so nice on here i can see it really taking off it justs needs a helping hand

Print off some "post cards" for the Newsagent's window - A sort of ....

    Need Cash Quick?
Moving House and need a clear out?
Kids grown out of their clothes and toys?

Turn unwanted goods into CASH for FREE

    Sell them on www.ebid.tv
(Or call me to do it for you - tel xxxxxxxxxxxx - no sale = no commission)

Basically - take a leaf out of the eBay Trading Assistant program
(It's cheaper than buying stock to sell)

    Gaz

Brilliant idea, not for me as i haven't even got round to listing a lot of my own items for sale lol. I can see that being of benefit to so many people. Well done.

My auctions, good prices, fair p&p.

I wonder if the name ebid is too close to ebay? They are too similar and 'ebid' makes it easier to be reminded of ebay, somehow.

    Anyone agree?

Actually I like the way eBid reflects the fact that it is an AUCTION site - Ebay doesn't make any sense as a name at all!

I've created an ebid users' Frapper Map

    http://www.frappr.com/kitchentableregulars/map

Please visit and plant your marker. You don't have to chat there (there is a chat room attached), but there seem to be a lot of browsers on the site and I've put the ebid home page as our url.

And then there is the whole business of adding a link to ebid to any and every email you send. I've said it all over this board but I've put it into my "item dispatched" email on ebay. It has not been detected by ebay (just the text, no html) but it seems to be converted into a live link by email clients (how convenient!)

I have two ebid stores. This is for Cats Protection;Lots of beanies, fast food toys, random collectables, some new children's clothes - almost anything really.
this is business and sells skeleton leaves, Thai silk, various vintage postcards, more random collectables
    Both sell discontinued china tableware.
