Thread: Fake Militaria

  1. #1

    Default Fake Militaria

I have been buying off Ebay for about 2 years now and have been shocked at the recent amount of UK sellers selling fake Militaria items so was pleased when somebody told me about a new site Ebid so i quickly registered.
My god what a joke!!!!!!!! Ive just browsed the WW2 section and couldnt stop laughing. At least on Ebay a lot of their fakes are quite convincing-here they are just pure rubbish with sky high prices.
I will hang around for a while to see if these were maybe one offs but first impressions arent good im afraid.

I'm afraid that there will always be someone ready to make that quick buck. I sell some militaria but as I don't know what it is worth, most of it will go on ebay for the moment. Mine is all the real thing, mind - sourced from my husband and other ex-military friends.

I have two ebid stores. This is for Cats Protection;Lots of beanies, fast food toys, random collectables, some new children's clothes - almost anything really.
this is business and sells skeleton leaves, Thai silk, various vintage postcards, more random collectables
    Both sell discontinued china tableware.

I collect alot of Historical items and Relics, I know what you mean about ebay, I would not doubt that 90% of the relics on ebay are fakes. I have not looked over ebids stuff yet but its probably the same way. Here are a couple of links to places out to expose the fake relics on ebay and other auction sites.

I guess we all have experienced fakes in one form or another.

We only sell genuine items, and have been doing so for over 3 years on eBay.

Check out our ebid Stores 'T&V Collectables'

If you suspect a fake or fraud of an item on ebay or on any auction block, report it! Ebay is good at removing those who deal in fraud. Make sure you are correct in your findings and are able to show it. This helps clean out some of the junkies!!

    GOOD-LUCK

I think you may be right,But surely it must be a case of buyer beware.
and the application of a little common sense.
I have just seen on one auction an ad for aworld one medal showing a german eagle and swasticka motif, was this available at that time. or am I being too suspicious.

If you spot something on a listing you know to be a fake, you can use the 'report this auction' button to alert ebid management. Only do this if you're sure though- because we don't want the good sellers suspended!

Why bother asking? You're obviously intent on merely slagging the place off rather than getting answers to your questions. Every single post you've made is negative and, quite honestly, pointlessly pathetic.
