I THINK this is what you need to do. Go to User CP near the top left of the screen. Then edit options, scroll to the bottom where it says Miscellaneous Options and select Enhanced Interface WYSIWYG. I think that allows you to add in smileys

I just tried every link in user CP, trying to find the correct 1 for smilies, i just found it, came back here & saw your instructions.
So i'm trying it out yippee.
