Hyacinth Bulb Vases

I sold one of these on the other site and got a really good price for it.

I put an identical one on and received no bids.

I understood these vases were genuine antiques.

Does anybody have any gen on Hyacinth bulb vases.?

Hyacinth vases were mainly produced in Western Europe. Important countries for the manufacturing were: France, Great Britain, Germany, Holland and the Scandinavian countries. the most interesting antique vases can be found in France and Britain. Also in the United States, forcing hyacinths on vases in known for a very long time and interesting older vases can be found there.

It happens all the time! Failing to sell just means that no-one who wanted the item looked at it. Selling for a good price just means that at least 2 people wanted it and were prepared to pay.

I listed a book at £1 - twice - it didn't gather a single bid. Then I listed it at 50p and it went to £11! Don't tell me that the lower start price affected anyone but the first bidder!!!! Bidding is a bit random.

I agree, it just takes 2 people to want the same thing and you can make a really good sale.

I've now sold my 2 vases, second one didn't do too well.

I know these vases history as they belonged to my husband's gran so would be early 1900's.

I might add somebody got a bargain as these old bulb vases can be quite expensive to buy.
