Thread: Scam?

  1. #1

    Lightbulb Scam?

Hiya, Im new to this ebid website. Ive seen in the computer auctions that they have 2 desktops at £40 each, a laptop at £40 and an IMAC for about £50!!!!!

    These cant be legit, right?
When some thing sounds too good to br true it normally is.

Has any one ever been ripped off or have any guidelines that would help me?

    Thank you, Ryan

Ask them if they accept Escrow or can you collect if you pay cash (if you are near enough).
If they make some excuse not to, then it's a scam.
Any genuine seller would bend over backwards to get a sale.

It may be a very old laptop, e.g. an IBM 600 (I saw one for £65).
Don't buy one of those, they are dog slow, won't take a lot of memory, and the batteries are always shagged.
Check out the spec before you bid.

I think i may have been ripped off, i paid (via paypal) for a psp to sportsentertainmentonline and got told item would be here within 14 days. it's been nearly that but when i checked his auctions, they've all disappeared and his feedback has got some new negatives saying he's a fraud so im kinda worried as £110 IS ALOT of money to me, i have emailed and no reply so do i go ahead and file a claim with paypal or do i wait the full 14 days to see if its not a scam? any ideas people????

do chargeback first via paypal and and if no luck (as they would have often emptied their account) complain to your credit card company who will recover your funds.
