    Default Miniature Frame Needed

I want to make a "Victorian" sampler for my mum's 1:12 doll's house.

So far all I've been able to locate are metal/gilt frames which are not appropriate or needlecraft kits which are expensive considering I want to actually design and stitch a personal sampler.

Does anyone have / know where I can find a wood/wood effect miniature frame suitable for mounting needlework?

    Thanks in anticipation

I've not seen anything dainty enough (how big were you after?) but could you make it from half-round dowel?

I have two ebid stores. This is for Cats Protection;Lots of beanies, fast food toys, random collectables, some new children's clothes - almost anything really.
this is business and sells skeleton leaves, Thai silk, various vintage postcards, more random collectables
    Both sell discontinued china tableware.

Thanks for the reply Madelaine. I'm looking for something approx 1" x 1.5" but can't start designing the sampler until I know what size frame I can get. Even on fine weave fabric I'm not going to have much room to play with!

I've thought about making my own and my Dad has given me some leftover pieces of the doll house skirting board so it looks like I'm going to have to trim that down to build my own frame.

I'm sure someone must make the bloomin things but I just can't find them - perhaps if my prototype works well I could go into mass production and sell them on!

Well, it would be nice to bring this board alive, wouldn't it?

on the wall in that pic there is a sampler, i imagine the frame would have been made from polymer clay, so its another idea anyway.

this comes as a kit including the sampler, so the price is reflects that

not actually been of much help to you but im trying

This picture shows a magnified photograph of our flower basket miniature sampler. The sampler kit has a wooden frame which is available in oak, ebony or pine finish. The kit contains 40 holes per inch evenweave fabric, threads, acetate, Velcro, needle, chart and instructions. The gallery size measures just 32 by 26 millimeters.

    Thanks for looking Bel

The kit one is the sort of thing that I'm after but I do begrudge paying so much for a kit when I want to put my own design in it - my mother is quite particular about how things should be!!!

i wonder if it would be worth contacting this lady

    http://uk.one.ebid.tv/perl/main.cgi?...er&words=ideal

she is really lovely, very friendly and helpful.

she sells dolls house minatures, i have bought bits from her before - for use on cards. (little mugs of tea and buns - which were amazing)

i am not sure if she makes some bits herself or not, but she maybe able to point you in the right direction of where you might find what you are after.

    no harm in asking
