Affiliate Programe ... PROBLEM!!!

Have signed up for this, seemed like a great idea at the time but have already hit a major problem!

The banner links work fine ... send you to the new index page where you choose UK or USA. Nice and fast loading time, great.

BUT ... whats the flippin point in having a banner that DOESNT HAVE PICTURES!!!

yeps, you heard right ... a completely BLANK box that if you happen to put your cursor over you see thats its hyperlinked.

But nothing to tell you where to or what it is about ... Nothing, nada, bog all lol.

am waiting for the clixgalore peeps to email me back ... but it takes up to 2 working days for them to respond to emails (how pants is that?) so am really hoping G or M will be able to help me out on why ALL the ebid banner html's DONT have graphics showing.

At the very bottom of the screen, below the picture of a house, and the Christmas candle of hope picture, there SHOULD be a banner promoting eBid ....... this is the banner I was sent from the Affiliates program, and as you can see it is completely BLANK!!!

The code they told me to use is as follows:

Thats meant to be a 468 x 60 banner for eBid.

I had a one line reply from them this morning that simply said "If you copy and paste the code exactly you should have no problems."

I have emailed them back to say that I have copied and pasted the code as instructed but there is still NO IMAGE!! I declined the urge to tell them I am NOT thick as pig mess lol.

scuse the huge screen shot lol - cant get the cursor to show up on the screen BUT at the bottom of the pic you can see the hyperlink address of where my cursor is hovering on the ebid affiliates banner that is invisible!!

Haven't had a reply back from the clixgalore people but am hoping they will admit there is something wrong when they see the picture above that I emailed em hahahaha.

Teach em to tell ME I havent linked it properly ... cheeky beggars!

Hi Vik, I've just clicked on the link to your site and the eBid banner's showing up... I clicked it and it took me to ebid homepage!

All is ok here. My guess is that you have some firewall software installed that has an ad blocker built in.

have standard firewall on computer which has NO affect whatsoever on any of the adverts you get on here, also can disable ad blocking pertinent to each individual website and naturally I will have this disabled for my own website, as well as many others that I know I can trust NOT to have spyware and all that carp.

We also have the Jeeves search box we on our site, as part of their affiliates program and that is only ever disabled from being seen IF the ad blocker is enabled ... hmmm seeing a pattern emerge here in that I am being told its a prob with my puter when in fact that is NOT true and its THEIR software that does not allow for ANY firewalls.

Oh well, if the program wants to operate in such a manner that it expects people to have NO security on their pc's in order to see it, then I will NOT be having the affiliate program on my site. I wont compromise the security of my pc just to advertise someone else. Not like I can even advertise MY own company on here.

Very disillusioned now.

okies cant be botherd editiing my last post ... amazing that I have suddenly had another email from the clox people saying they couldnt see any problems, please try these links and see if the banners work. Wow, amazing, yes the banners worked .. went straight to my site to see if anything had changed on there and HEY PRESTO one minute no images and next there they were.

Proof positive that it was THEM that had the problem and not me cos I didnt do a single thing different to get the image to work on my site hahahahahahahahaha. Just wait and se if they admit it was THEM who cocked up the images eh G&M?

Hi, can anyone help me with putting a link on my emails, I have the code and put it on one of my websites okay, but when i tried to add it to go out with my emails it just appeared as html code.... sorry but i am a bit thick.

Make sure your email software is set to send emails as html, not plain text.
