Lightbulb Just One Extra Bit Of Advice

although internet connections run with a PC master and slave work fine, security is of course compromised.

if you are going to use this method to get internet access over multiple PC's PLEASE firstly make sure that the windows XP firewall is turned ON

PLEASE also use a good personal firewall piece of software like zone alarm (which is free)

PLEASE use a good anti virus programme at all times on all machines

ALWAYS keep a very up to date backup of any important data

the advice that routers are not needed whilst true in one sense misses the point that a good router with a built in hardware firewall does give you much better protection and network stability

    hope that helps

    regards

    david
