and if you go into my ebid current auctions you can see how many views each item has had... this way that you can check how many views something is getting without adding your own views to the count.

Ah..... but having a counter on the auction page can encourage bids or create a bidding war

I'd like to see them on the page itself - there's plenty of freeware ones around, so why not include them in the system?

Why don't you just include one in your code?

One more task for the members to do on behalf of the site, when the site should be doing them for the members.

    So let's see ....... we do ........

    - Advertising & marketing
    - email buyers at close with payment methods
    - chase up ppPay payers to do the penny checks so we can collect payment
    - use multiple seller accounts to provide some organisation to our "other listings"
    - manually insert other payment methods code in listings
    - manually insert postage methods / transit times in listings
    - manually remind buyers about overdue payment
    - manually remind buyers about overdue feedback
    - spend hours trying to figure out the Dutch auction emails - who actually won and how many etc.
    - police the auctions including the site home page
    - act as user support via the forums
    - act as forum moderators

errrr - sure I've forgotten several other things we do that the site could automate for us .... join in everyone.

Yes we could include it in our listings - new or otherwise - but the point is that some of us have been asking the site to provide them for almost two years, a few have been asking for even longer than that.

I do see your point but do you want it to get done?

If you've been asking for two years and got nowhere then you should have seen a long time ago that if you want it, you'll probably only get it by doing it yourself.

I'm new to eBid so I don't know how they are with support yet. Though if it's possible to affect a change for myself, that's the route I'll take because at least I know it'll get done.

I thought there were counters on the auction pages themselves?

I know when I look at someones auction it tells me how many people have already looked at the item....

    Confused as usual! lol
