Hi, I'm here and getting google eyed trying to identify a two tiered glass square stand that I'm selling.

It has a metal frame with 2 engraved glass plates with love birds on them.

If anyone has any ideas of who made this stand or it's value I would appreciate it.

Hello Iona, and welcome, sounds like a Cake/Stand. ?
If you can post a picture of it here, perhaps someone will be able to help you identify it.

    Hi
I presume the holder is chrome and not silver plate, is there any mottling of the chrome.
The glass ones usually just have Crystal Cut (patterns), and the fact that there is a (picture) on both plates, is quite unusual, I like it.
I can't find anything on it at all, even in my books, but they are all prior to 1900's, your stand could be anywhere between 30' and 50's
Try advertising is as "Unusual vintage, pressed picture glass cake stand, with no visible manufactures marks."
As for price, how longs a piece of string, if you go high and it does not sell, just reduce it next time round.
LOL if you will sell overseas, the American's like unusual things, so you never know.
    Good Luck

The stand actually looks like a kind of peuter. You are correct in saying the glass is crystal cut.

I'm sure it is pre 1900 as it was my great grand mother's so it must be mighty old.

I have no idea what to start it at.

Here's another item that I have no idea of worth.

    It's by L & sons of Hanley.

Is there a backstamp/pattern number on it ?
Is it Lustre, or is that the camera flash.

    Lancaster & Son's Dresden works 1900-1944
Electroplated rim, cover & swing handle Biscuit Barrel.

Similar style, (not pattern) selling for £48 on American Market.
    Hope this helps.

Yes it is lustre but it doesn't have that stamp

The stamp has the same crown at the top but below had 3 feathers and then a lion figure below the feathers.

It has L & Sons above the stamp and Hanley England below the stamp.

Thanks for all your help Honeyant. I can keep you busy for ages.

I should maybe put you on commission lol
