amiga a500+ trouble

can anyone tell me what is wrong with my amiga a500+ when i take a floppy out and turn the power off i get a yellowey screen and i cant get it back to the original screen.

Dredging my memory from my own "golden years" of computing. I remeber that on startup the Amiga has diagnostic colours on startup (I assume you mean on startup, not after the Amiga has powered down).
These were:
Dark gray Ok Hardware
Light gray Ok Software
Red Bad ROM Checksum
Green Bad RAM
Blue Bad Custom Chips
Yellow Exception

If you mean on startup-ie: you can't get to a workbench screen then maybe the above is relevant. If not, then...er...it's not (so apologies ).

Do you still have the original discs for the Amiga, my daughter has lots of retro computers & games consoles. Our attic is full of them and she refuses to sell. If you can redo the amigas memory functions ie: like reformatting. The manual if you have it, (we do LOL) the manual will tell you in the trouble shoot section.
