I agree with you about The Time Machine KPARENUTS. After having read the book I felt rather robbed as the film was way too short. I`d give it a B- as they could have done better!!

Yep THE TIME MACHINE started with such good intentions then as it was such a short film they had to miss so much out and that spoilt alot of the fun

Another film any sci fi nut would have to agree was a excellent film would have to be DUNE as i thought it was a great film and in my opinion was made in the same mold as BLADERUNNER with its own type of originality and effects :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

cloud_strife, The Thing was a great film! I am a massive fan of John Carpenter films as he is a man who knows his horror :twisted: I have a fair few of his films - Prince Of Darkness, Halloween 1&2, Assault On Precinct 13, In The Mouth Of Madness and Vampires, and they are all quality viewing.

A Matter of Life and Death

Made in 1948, and about 20-30 years ahead of its time in special effects, plus the most romantic story I have ever watched. Also funny, sad and touching. A true classic -if you haven't seen it yet get it and watch it -just have the tissues ready.

Also loved T2 -as good as the original and Highlander 1.

Die Hard -cos any film that can have Yippy-Kay-Ay Mother F***er as memorable quote has to be a classic!

My current favourites are Taxi & Taxi 2 (silly plot, an implausibly fast Peugeot and good car chases - can't wait for Taxi 3!), Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (you need to watch Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma to understand some of the jokes though, plus my doppelganger makes an appearance in each of them), Bad Boys (good car chases again) and my all time favourite: Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope.

I thought MALLRATS was very funny and it had me in stitches lol .....Have you seen Empire records as it is a simular type of film based round a record shop :!: :!: :!:

i like alot of films, time machine was good but agree with NUTS that it was a bit short. Also like most soppy ones, like pretty woman. Another good un was fast and furious... :lol:
