Thread: Pictures on auctions

    Default Pictures on auctions

    Hi everyone
are Book auctions more successful with a picture of the cover? If you have, say, a couple of hundred books to upload would a brief description do? Any comments gratefully received.

    hi
i find that people like to see the pictures of the book they are buying, i try to do pictures for all my book auctions. Just the last lot i was doing the camera was playing up, so once that is sorted then hope to add the pictures.

but i find that ahving a picture means for mean you dont have to go into so much detail of the condition as you can see what the book looks like.

also i know some people are interested with what the covers are like.

    hope that helps

I prefer to see a picture but a good description is almost as good.

    Good luck with your auctions.

Spike23, why don`t you go to Amazon or WHSmith`s sites and lift cover piccies from there? It is what I do and I find it way quicker than fiddling about with a digicam I find that auctions with pics get a lot more hits. Be brutally honest about the condition of the book though, otherwise buyers expect minty mint condition. If you are going to put a synopsis of your book on the auction, paste that from Amazon or WHSmith too! It saves your fingers from a lot of typing!

    Hi red_fox
Thanks for the advice but would I be infringing someone's copyright? :?

You'll also find that if you upload your pics to your own web space and reference them from within your auction (as opposed to uploading the pic to eBid), that you will get a little thumbnail of it displayed alongside you listings.
