Any information that will promote your sale should be included, particularly the condition.
Book sales are not going great on e-auctions, unless they are something very special. I have just checked-out the first three pages of non-fiction books on ebid, and there hasn't been one offer made.
Other sites may do better, particularly if they attract an international viewing.

I just came on this forum to suggest this very thing!

I've been browsing around for the past half hour or so and several books caught my eye, but when I clicked on the listing description not one book I looked at had a synopsis. With no idea what the story was about, I clicked out again.

I'd say it was essential to include even just a very brief description of the story!

I sell alot of books and always include a synopsis as I think it makes the difference between them selling and not. Otherwise only someone who knows the book will buy it, adding a synopsis attracts others too.

My view on this is that if you see something that you like but there are no details, just do a search on Amazon or a similar website to get full information about the product. Takes a few minutes longer admittedly but at least you are guaranteed of accurate information.

Good idea but a lot of people can;t be bothered. I'd properly only do that for something I really wanted. I hope that by writting the synopsis, when someone is just browsing they will like the sound of a book and buy it, seems to be working ok

If you are scanning books fior the pic anyway, get a textbridge or other OCR programm then you can scan the words into a word doc, cut and paste it into your auction. Some books on amazon have no reviews. Tell the condition of the book, check all the pages are there and if it is an ex library book tell folk it is. Some people do not want ex library books.

There are 7995 listings for books and mags. I'm looking for one author in particular. Wendy Robertson. she hails from the North East (ooop north).

Any offers , have you got any of her books listed :?:

iainsdad, Unfortunatly I don't have a scanner but that's a great idea, save loads of time. Although that said, my typing has improved loads since I started selling online

thehoneyant, sorry haven't got that one

I've recently listed a few books that I'd read and decided to sell. If you don't at least put down what the book is about, how is anyone supposed to know about it? I lifted the synopis for the books straight from Amazon to add in with my auctions, saves having to type a long description in myself! Now, if only someone would just buy the blessed things off me!
