Thread: Mounted or not?

  1. #1

    Default Mounted or not?

Nope, it's not some sexual deviant post, just a simple question really :

If you were buying an image/print would you find it more acceptable if it was in mountboard rather than having to do it yourself? But, premounted means you need to find a specifc size frame.

Just wondered if I should offer that service.

    Thanks

    Hi

Personally I think they look much better with a mountboard and if they are slightly oversized they can be cut down to suit the frame size anyway. Most antique fairs/picture framers always have prints/pictures for sale this way usually with a neutral ivory colour. When they are covered in cellophane too they are less likely to get damaged/dirty. Hope this helps.

I only buy if the print or picture has a mount round it has it looks finished off with a mount.
    Good luck
