Maine Coons are one of my favs. Also known as the gentle giant. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, originally form the state of Maine.

I'm guessing that a Maine Coon would be expensive in UK - I've never even touched one!

However, as I've never bought a cat in my life, prices are something I know little about -our first and only kitten was "free to a good home" and the rest have come from Cats Protection... apart, that is, the one we looked after for a friend while she was living in the tropics for two years.

Thank you, yes, they really are lookers! To my way of thinking, since I have never bought a cat, they are expensive in the US. The average cost is around $900!
