I have a folder of low value stamps including 9p through to 2nd and 1st class commemorative which I hope to use until it is no longer possible to swap them.
Really I needed over 5 years notice to work through them all.
So, sending a parcel to China will be covered all over with stamps to use them up

I had a quantity of low value stamps from 1p upwards. I sent them back to Royal Mail and have received exact replacements but of the new bar-coded stamps. There is no need to rush to use them up.

Thanks Tony, that is reassuring, Posting back to Royal Mail sounds less stress than being 12th in the queue at the local sub-post office - which is one reason I don't go there to post mail!

You don't even have to go to your local post office for a form. You can print one off from https://www.royalmail.com/sending/barcoded-stamps They claim to try to return the replacement stamps within 7 days. My exprerience is that it takes over twice that long but it is FREEPOST to send them.

That's great, though my non self-adhesive stamps would need three or four pages! Thanks for this, the pdf is not easy to find on the Royal Mail website
