With fuel prices set to soar, I am considering purchasing an electric pressure cooker.
Does anyone own an Ansio?

No I don't, Tefal and Seb (same company - made in France) I consider to be the best NON ELECTRIC ones, Tough, indestructible and will last a lifetime - that is the model range named as "Authentic" and also the old ones that look similar but are all aluminium.
Looking at the Ansio ..it has a pile of electronics ..not a good mix with something that can get wet .....and i know it has an inner pot - how you would clean the rest of it - i don't know ..as it looks impossible, looks chuck away, maybe a short lived non repairable consumer product, just like those halogen cookers
Another non electric make is Lacor - the Inox model range - Made in Spain - these are almost an exact copy of the Tefal/ Seb Authentic
BTW - Inox is the European name for stainless steel.
all the best.mark
I was interested in reading the replies to this thread so thanks for giving your unbiased views and product knowledge regarding pressure cookers, I have been considering replacing an old pressure cooker I had to dispose of and was not sure what type to go for, the electric was very tempting but with your comments, also the news regarding waste of electric products over the last 2 days now thinking twice about them. Made some costly decisions in the past very very careful these days.🤔🤔
Thank you for taking the time to respond
Re your comments about electronics and something that can wet..... this would also apply to slow cookers, but I have never had a problem with mine.
The point of going for an electric pressure cooker is to have a timer which doesn't need the lengthy process of reducing pressure - by whatever means. I remember having to hold the very old ones under a cold tap!!!
But thanks anyway
.
In 1974 my parents bought me a Prestige aluminium pressure cooker and it is still going strong. I have had a spare valve and gasket for a very long time. The spare gasket I have just used for the 1st time - the valve awaits!
All parts are still available, I am pleased to find:

.
I had a Prestige one in the Sixties - can't remember what happened to it. Have to say I didn't use it very much so perhaps any new model will join the gadgets I simply had to have
I had to get rid of my Tower one because it clearly stated on the bottom that it could not be used on electric hob so I sold it at a car boot. No gas supply where I live at present.
