    Talking Garden guests

A few weeks ago at dusk I saw a large hedgehog come out from under a small tree in my back garden, and I realised it had made a home under a pile of leaves there. It was lovely to watch out for it in the evenings, and sometimes it would walk under the gate, cross the drive and go into my neighbours garden too. We were delighted.

Yesterday I found out the reason for it's large size - it had been pregnant!

Here is a pic of two of the three little ones, called hoglets, that I've seen.

A hedgehog nesting in the garden is a first for me - and a delight!

So cute! A friend had a batch born in her greenhouse, so we got to see them. They really are interesting little things!

Very cute. I follow a lovely lady on Twitter who puts out amazing advice about all things hedgehog. @HedgehogCabin it can be a roller coaster ride following each of her rescue hog's stories.

How lovely! We haven't had any hedgehogs about for a few years now.

    Yes, cute is the word!

I think mum is happy, judging by the empty saucers of food and water.

My husband has a moth trap (all captives are identified, recorded and released without harm).

This is last night's star guest - a Privet Hawk Moth.

Wow, that's quite a star guest Madelaine.

The hedgehogs have gone now, this the last pic I took of the three of them -

It was lovely to be their host for a while.

Any more garden guests out there folks?
