Why is the Whois lookup details for eBid.net redacted?

Please un-redact the eBid.net domain registration details as people like myself use it to verify if a website is kosher or not.


eBay.com, amazon.com, paypal.com etc correctly return these details in full.


Only scammers hide their physical address and business registration details.

@goldenstat from another new person, welcome to the forum.

Looks like this is a new registrar setting as all my websites had my personal contact details displayed publically but are now 'Redacted for privacy'! This is great, will hopefully avoid a whole load of heartache when it comes to spam.

If you're overly concerned about eBid you can easily look them up on Companies house or stick around & read through some older threads to get a feel for the place?

Your post is very judgemental. My personal details for my registrations are kept private and I have never scammed anyone

lol, they're a straight arrow, not a bad thing? A lack of contact information is high on the list of spotting fake websites. It's also quite unusual for a company to use a .net extension when .com & co.uk were the more customary TLDs back then, but there are other ways to check out a site other than running a whois search.

the .net extension is used because there is a domain sitter occupying .com despite the legislation designed to prevent this.
