    Cool Another Ebid n00b

    Hi everyone,

I'm another new member of the website, migrated over here from E*ay.

I specialise in selling preloved clothing and accessories along with other random bits and bobs, i am a bit of a hoarder so reselling not only helps me tidy up the house but also gives me some pocket money to go towards fun tings in life.

I have read mixed reviews online about Ebid and was wondering what your views as users are of the site?

Also how do you manage to get views and sales? i have noticed the search feature for this site is a bit blah compared to E*ays so i'm worried people might not manage to find my listings.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!!

Hi, new here too. At the moment I'm reminding myself that this isn't the other site so should expect it to be different, it's sometimes hard when other processes have become so familiar but the reasons for being here are good for perseverance, upgrading to Seller+ is also a motivation! I'm just hoping eBid's devevelopment team are still listening & keen.

    Best wishes with everything xx

Hi welcome also! Thank you very much for the support

I too am hoping the Ebid team is all ears and open to feedback, this site has a lot of potential, we just need to work together as users to push it out there.
So far i am quite enjoying the simplicity of this website! everything is a lot more straight forward here haha

    I have a lifetime membership.

When I first started, it was frustrating. So I went to "the bay" to get some training in how to sell.
I do appreciate the great learning experience from there and I have the understanding that this site is NOT "the Bay" with the recognizable name. I am okay with this.

I came back the other year before I was forced into the managed payment. I look at that I don't have to to the "busy work" that "the Bay" makes sellers go through.
I brought my 200-400 items here and since I don't have to worry about the other site, I can concentrate here.
Last month, I broke the 1,000 listing mark and have been able to get more of the items I have for sale ready.

Yes, you will have to promote your items on the different social medias and use the forum's Plug my Auction section, too.

So many newbies will start and complain about no sales and not make any efforts to read the FAQ's and to promote themselves.
This site let's you be your own Boss in selling your items.

    Good Luck to you all

WHOOOOOPS I just noticed this post is under PLUG YOUR AUCTION - sorry

    Evening All

    Welcome to EBID.

Few things I have found useful.

I sell comic books and trading cards. Most of my sales come from the open web more then people from the site.
What I would say is make sure your tittles are google friendly and the first couple of lines of your description are full of the right keywords.
Make sure you put barcode numbers in your listing where prompted if you have them. If you don't then make sure you fill the box in with exempt.
Make sure you use the free photos more the better. If you have enough items open a shop if you have the right subscription level this will help you create a bit of a brand on the site.
Never list your Items as run until sold. This is a bit complicated and a bit hard to explain but here goes. If you list something as run until sold it will move further down the list of items in the same category till it hits the bottom of the list as more and more items are added in said category. The best way I find to list items is to do them as auto repost 10 days 10 times. This means that every 10 days my items have a hit in both newly listed items showing on the front page of the site and also a hit in the ending soon again on the front page of the site.
Use all the social media tools that are available to this site. Am not a big user of social media but it works and I have accounts on Twitter and Pinterest just to promote my EBID items.

What I would say is don't think of this place as an greedbay alternative as it is a very different place and you have to work a lot harder to be more successful I have been here a while and all my feedback is from here both good and bad and have worked hard and stuck at this site to get that feedback and the sales and profit that comes with it.

Good luck and hope you make many sales

If you have regular buyers on ebay try to get them to come to ebid, use business cards to entice potential buyers here. use pinterest, facebook and blogs to promote your listings.
