Well, here we are at the end of the last auction they were bidding on, invoice has been sent for all of the items they won. Not holding my breath but we shall see. I gave them three days to pay the invoice, after that it'll be payment reminders then eBid support I guess. It's an odd one really as they have at least managed to fill in their address (whether it's real or not, who knows!)

As for the scumbag giving you the runaround, no doubt a scammer just trying to get your personal details. It's scary what they can do with just a few simple bits of information. That's another good reason to stick with something like PayPal - they can't use my PayPal account name as a form of fraudulent identification, and that should be the only piece of information they get from me (unless I'm the buyer, then they get my address but that can't be helped, and scammers aren't usually sellers).

In that thread of yours the buyer was banned and had a track record of being a Non Paying Bidder, the way they tried repeatedly not to use your payment link and then didn't pay earned them the title 'scumbag' in my opinion. I understand that sometimes things don't go right, mistakes are made, things happen that are maybe out of our control, maybe some people are still new to online auction sites, but fool me once... you know the rest.

In my case the buyer has paid the invoice and I've now shipped the items, I remain cautiously optimistic that the sale will be completed without any problems, just a strange bidding / buying pattern that I've never seen before in all my years of online selling experience.

Just a quick update, fingers crossed everything has gone smoothly and correctly, the buyer left good feedback so I did the same. Perhaps a lesson learned here (on my part), but always worth being vigilant anyway.
