At long last I've done it! The local Dog's Trust is making a delivery next Sunday afternoon. They will be delivering -
a Bichon Frise (prn“Friseh”, please! They are white, not yellow, Canary Islanders)and – a Shichon, which is black and white!
I'd never heard of this one but it's one of those “coined” names and is a Bichon crossed with a Shi-tzu. They are two “sisters”, have always been together, and their elderly mum has passed away. I've seen them only on video clip and photograph as there can be no visiting at the moment. I don't need to be checked (they know I am insane!) -that's Harri still looking out for me as I had to be vetted (VBG) for him. When we spoke back then I had just had the last of my four Lhasa Apsos cremated, so they know I'll have no problem with two dogs.
I suspect this has been my salvation, being able to take the pair.People are going mad trying to home dogs at the moment. There are many new would-be owners (Covid again) and I kept losing out at theTrust queues. I saw these two come up, realised no new boy would be allowed a pair so the queue would be shorter.I am so relieved and pleased too.
For the first time in many years I'm going to rename these, not a practice I would normally get involved in as it is quite laborious.Seriously – can you imagine me calling out “Ellie! Phoebe!”? I have found the names, too..”Clover” and “Bracken”. Hope you approve the choice.
Of course, while all this was going on, I had a 'phone call from the bank. Had I made a purchase of about £300 online. I had not. They had held back payment in case, so my money was safe, but of course myaccount is now blocked until they can get a new card to me tomorrow or Wednesday. So, because of some greedy "bar-steward" in the Far East,I cannot pay the Trust immediately! Just my luck! More on the little ladies as things actually occur!!
