Quick message from Monks' Mum while we wait for him to turn up

Well, the news yesterday wasn't what we wanted to hear and some of our Christmases are not going to turn out how we expected.
Plans have been scuppered and hopes have been dashed, but it is what it is, and I suppose we'll just have to make the best of it.
We'd already decided to not see our four boys, their families and the grandchildren even before we were told about going into tier 4 but it's still put a damper on things.
So many in the family were planning to have their Christmas bubbles but now it looks like this is not going to be possible. It's such a shame and we feel so sad for everyone.
Bri and I will just be dropping presents off to our family at the doorstep, go to Mum's place and drop off some for her and the staff, then hunker down for the duration and crack open the chocolates and wine.
We'll cook nice food, watch rubbish tv, message our friends and talk to our family on 'zoom'.
It'll be ok.
It will be different and strange and not ideal, but it'll be ok.
And we'll get through it in the hope that the new year will be so much better and this time next year we'll all be having the biggest, happiest, craziest Christmas party ever.

Please stay safe everyone and try to keep in contact with your loved ones by phone, messages etc, it's the best we can do in such an upsetting and difficult time.
