Deleting unused categories

Do you think we should have a system for deleting unused categories?

For example, if we come across categories with nothing listed in them, should we flag them for deletion?

It is not encouraging for buyers to go to categories to find that Ebid does not have any listings. It reduces respect for the Ebid brand.

I agree - an ongoing revision of Categories should take place and give more focused attention to those that actually work! As I sell predominantly Post Cards, I constantly find Categories missing and so many that are just not necessary or used at all.

Optimistically, however, I just don't see it happening with eBid...

I don't know if this is the right place to mention a minor irritation I feel every time I list in Art Deco Glass category (almost every week). But as you mention "ongoing revision" here goes.

Opening the "Sell on Ebid" page I am offered "Search Categories" or "Recent Categories". I use Search Categories each week because for some reason the Art Deco Glass category never shows up in Recent Categories, although I think every other category I've ever used does. Even ones I only used once, years ago.

Would it be good if unused categories didn't show when browsing but only when we are listing? Like unused categories in our shops.
