When my parents had noisy partying neighbours, they used to plan to play hymns loudly early the next morning. It never actually happened.

I had occasion to ask a neighbour politely to turn down their so called music a couple of weeks ago only for the husband to come round to my home as I was leaving to go to the shop, he was puffing up his chest like a peacock saying he was disappointed with me and my request, refused to accept it was a reasonable and polite request to be told that I did not live in a retirement area, had to laugh as only 2 weeks prior he had accused another resident of doing exactly what he was doing to me, however he picked on the wrong one to intimidate.

Seemed he thought that because we were neighbours and we had normally conversed that it was OK to play loud monotonous noise, I don't play my music loud so why should they think it OK for them to do it.

Found! I had been looking in the wrong place. I thought it was a CD of the Monks I had but it was actually on tape..... oh what a treat!

I also found my tape of favourite hymns - but it will actually happen if the drills, hammers etc get going again! Wish I had found these yesterday - but no doubt the boys will soon find something else to hammer and bang.......

I think making the noise at the same time as the neighbours is justified. They can hardly complain!

    lol!

Today is a quiet day on both sides and the worst offender has put up the sun shade on his patio ...... my wrath will not be provoked as long as noisy guests and lager don't come into the picture..... I really would like to enjoy the sun in peace with doors and windows open....

I cannot understand that mentality. I sometimes, not always, have two fingers of a liqueur on retiring; that's to relax the muscles as I am prone to night cramps. I usually know when they are about to strike! I've had none for weeks, with or without cramps, as I'm darned if I'll queue for it!! Standing for ever is more likely to cause the cramps anyway!!

In your situation, I'd be tempted to beg a bucket of slops from the nearest hostelry and then carry out a mass baptism if they were to start up...
