    Default Noisy neighbours

    .

Both of my neighbours either side of me are hyper. Lockdown has meant the boys with toys (hammers, drills, grinders, etc) on both sides of me have found plenty to occupy themselves with. Being in the middle occasionally "gets to me" - yesterday was a really busy day for both boys. There was no let up all morning and by lunchtime I really had had enough of it.

I remembered a few years ago in our village there is a supermarket with disabled slopes ..... kids would congregate - quite a gang, and thoroughly take over the area with their noise and skateboards making life generally difficult for all. The Store Manager, other local shopkeepers and the Police were unable to succeed in making the gang leave permanently.... until the Store Manager installed a tannoy on the corner of the store where the gangs were and played them Classical Music! It worked like a dream. For years now there have been no more gangs, even though the music has long since ceased to play.

Classical music just happens to be a passion of mine.... you can guess where this is going? I took my music centre into the conservatory, opened the door and all windows - and turned up the volume on my classical CD. Then I basked in the sunshine in peace, enjoying my garden while I did some crochet. Bliss. When the CD finished, if it was quiet I kept it off. If they were still noisy I played it all over again. The CD was playing until nearly 4.30pm before there was peace either side of me.

Today, neither boy is, as yet, playing with any loud, annoying toys. The music centre is still on standby in the conservatory though........

    Nicely done.

My ex-fiance had a similar problem.
BUT He had an album that he played that had the Gregorian chanting monks.

    The neighborhood became quiet.

Many years ago I was caretaker in an apartment building. The building next door had someone living there that loved to party till the wee hours of the AM. Their partying came to an abrupt stop the day after they partied and I mowed the lawn first thing in the morning. Funny thing, the muffler had "fallen" off of the lawn mower just before I started it up.

I saw a couple of CD's in the eBid UK section.
    Quick, pick one up.

Also, I would suggest wearing a black or brown robe with sandals and walk around the outside of the house. LOL

Uh, oh, I can see trouble ahead..... might soon be time to move the music to the front and open the lounge window..... I haven't a clue what is on the roof - any ideas anyone?

Could it be time to refelt the porch roof?

ps it was only last week the scaffolding came down (been up since before Christmas - redoing flat roof work to extensions......ie new wood beams then roofing and felting.... real major DIY project lasted months, hammering & banging every possible day from early 'til late...)
