Re-ordering Sub categories in stores not working

I created a new sub category in my store https://www.ebid.net/uk/stores/BK-Stamps

Sierra Leone, under Other British Commonwealth. I then started to sort the subcats in that category into alphabetical order (direly irritating at the best of times) and it just won't move!

There is a button to auto alphabetise. Did you try that ?

not for subcategories - no button available.

I got the order I want but by moving top or bottom in the correct order for them to end up right.

I must not be understanding you then.

I just added a subcategory to one of my existing categories. Then I used the button to alphetabise the subs within the category, and it worked.

I couldn't find it... but,anyway, I don't always want alphabetical - software doesn't treat, for example "St." properly and I have St Kitts & St Lucia subcats
