Fire risk - there's a recall on some Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines.

Whirlpool has announced today it is preparing to recall up to 519,000 Indesit and Hotpoint washing machines. The machines are being recalled owing to a fault with the door lock, which results in them posing a fire risk. The recall covers models manufactured between October 2014 and February 2018.

I was involved with the tumble drier fiasco - mine was fixed after waiting 18 months.
And after 2 Hotpoint washing machines burning out after 2 years, switched to Samsung. No problems since.

Strikes me as cost cutting on manufacturing costs to save pennies ....

my washer and dishwasher are whirlpool and now dont trust them and thinking about Samsung or Zanusi anything apart from these
