Thread: Alternative payment method

  1. #1

    Default Alternative payment method

Isn't it about time eBid got round to providing an alternative payment method to replace Pppay and Skrill now that Paypal is getting even more expensive for overseas transactions ?

I heard that Bonanza have recently integrated the payment system 'Stripe' so surely it wouldn't be too difficult to do it on eBid too ? I don't know how popular it is but I would be willing to open an account and offer it if eBid gave us that alternative.

I have just had a look at Stripe and they do have a UK office and website, there charges appear to be 1.4% + 20p which in more than I now pay compared to what I now pay on Paypal with Micropayments

I would very much appreciate it if eBid added Stripe as a payment option. It has been recommended to me by two other sellers who got fed up with Paypal's increasing shenanigans.

I like to bump this thread up.

"I heard that Bonanza have recently integrated the payment system 'Stripe' so surely it wouldn't be too difficult to do it on eBid too ? I don't know how popular it is but I would be willing to open an account and offer it if eBid gave us that alternative."

Bonanza does have Stripe Payment for membership sellers and was planning to open it up to the rest. But they have not posted anything at the end of October on the status of it.

eCrater is a smaller site than this and they do offer bother Paypal and Stripe.
There is no problem with using it over there.

I, too, would like to see Stripe on this site.

With eBay forcing managed payment, I am getting to open up my old shops here for a secondary site to sell on.
There are a lot of buyers and/or sellers that don't like Paypal and it would be nice as another payment method.

I'm wary of Stripe - it's one of the payment options on my website and just recently they blocked a payment to me saying my website was suspicious and there was no guarantee I was going to supply my customer - a day later they said they'd made a mistake and my website was fine and they were releasing the payment, so I went ahead and processed the order.

Sadly two weeks on I'm still waiting for the money from Stripe and they seem very reluctant to send it to me even though my customer has told them he's received the goods and is happy with them.

I've now removed Stripe as a payment option from my websites.

On another site, I have 4 shops that have the option of Paypal or Stripe.

The first deposit from Stripe for each shop took 3-4 days and then it was the next day to receive the money.

Perhaps the difference is that you are in the USA and Mandart is in UK.

Further to this post of mine, Stripe have now said they are witholding my money until the 22nd of MAY - their reasoning: 'These funds are reserved to cover potential refunds and disputes' ... From a sale in January...

No further discussions will be entered with them....

They are now permanently deleted as a payment option from my websites.
