Thread: Being charged fees for something that I didn't sell

  1. #1

Default Being charged fees for something that I didn't sell

I sold something and the buyer said it was an accident and requested to cancel. I send the two required payment reminders and then I was able to mark them as a non paying bidder. But now I own close to $1 in seller fees and I can't select the thing that says to refund my fee, because my selling abilities are disabled.

Before this I canceled another order and I still got charged for it. I don't know if there was something I was supposed to click on or not to get refunded. I thought that would happen automatically.

I really shouldn't have to pay fees on something that I didn't sell!

From the eBid HELP files - see tab at the top of Forum page - item 27:

You will have the option to claim back your Final Value Fees 3 days after the second payment reminder in the After Auction Log has been posted.

You must have left Negative or Neutral feedback for the buyer and reported the bidder as a NPB (non paying bidder),
then you will see the option "Refund final value fee" in the AAL drop down menu."

    HTH.

Thanks for the help. I just went ahead and paid it since the amount was so small. Then I was able to refund the fee and now I have a small credit. I would imagine that an expensive item may attract a lot of non paying buyers who have never used the site before. Then the fee could end up being quite high if the seller doesn't stay completely on top of it and doesn't go through the steps to get the fee refunded.

Glad to see you were able to get your fees reimbursed. Tend to agree with you on need to keep on top of the fee reimbursement process. It is the very low fee amounts that tend to be written off as "too low to bother." Multiply that across thousands or tens of thousands, and it can surely add up.
