We need emails sent out from eBid

I've said this often in the past and nothing has happened so I'm saying it again. We NEED emails sent out by eBid to remind people we are still here ! Last month, before the busy Christmas period, we didn't even get a newsletter ! We are bombarded by emails from the other selling sites but haven't had even one from eBid. This is what is said in an article on Ecommercebytes about Cyber Monday

Shoppers knew where they wanted to go: on Cyber Monday, 25.3% of sales were the result of direct visits to websites (down 1.2% year over year).
Organic search came in at almost 19%, but ads were more effective traffic drivers: paid search contributed 25.1% of buying traffic, up 7.4 percent YoY.
Retailers should continue with email marketing efforts – Adobe attributed 24% of sales to traffic coming from email.
Least effective driver of sales (remember, actual buyers, not all traffic): Adobe said that similar to past years, social media continued to have minimal impact on online sales, at 1.1% of share.

Us sellers can use social media until we are blue in the face but it's not going to make any difference here until eBid start making some more effort again too !

Have you seen eBid's mailshots? It might be counterproductive.

Yes, I remember the dreadful out of date, patched up, thing that used to be sent out years ago !

It's about time they designed a new up to date one that reflects the changes that have been made over the last few years. I bet loads of old sellers and buyers don't even know about the last big update judging by the surprised reaction from some of the 'old' sellers that have come back onto the forums.

And still sending out - complete with garish colours, broken links, and reference to the long extinct 'Wanted' category. I got one quite recently. Without checking on my PC I can't even be sure if the eBid logo had been updated to the current one.

Some seasonal decoration of the site wouldn't hurt either. Not much chance of that happening though.

As there are so many things which need to be done to keep the site running smoothly, I think that seasonal decoration should come very low down on the list.

A one off effort to create some seasonal backgrounds to slot in place of...



...at various times of the year. Not that hard or time consuming.

That large dirty grey area at the bottom of pages (hard to read and out of date regarding payment options)...



...could also benefit from a makeover and be used seasonally.

Sorry to say this, but the site is starting to look neglected.

And it just those type of marketing emails that I block/unsubscribe from ALL trading sites!
