Thread: Ninja woes for me too . . . .

  1. #1

Thumbs down Ninja woes for me too . . . .

I cannot upload any listings using the ninja lister because the app's category function has 0 options to select and the app will not accept entering the item category manually. Therefor, you cannot upload any listings nor save any listings.

Anyone else confronting this particular problem with the eBid Ninja Lister?

Any feedback or solutions to this problem would be extremely appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

I can add/select categories no problem... have you have edited your settings correctly? go to File> Edit Settings... here you can setup your username/password and editor as well as account type. This should allow you to create/add listings and so on...

    best luck

Thanks for the reply 20sent06. However, I would like to mention that I've been using Ninja Lister for years. This problem is new to me so I am unaware of how I should proceed to solve the issue. Like I mentioned in my previous post the problem lies in the select option for "item category". There is no options to select from in the "selection box" that appears when the "select" button is activated.

When I add the correct category ID manually in the "Category ID" text box, I receive an error message stating that the category ID is not a "valid" category ID.

Just a thought - have you updated to the latest version of NinjaLister v.2.15?

There has been a big re-organisation of categories e.g. Books/Non-Fiction has lost all its sub-categories and we now use Attributes instead to identify type of book. Unfortunately these can only be added afterwards online, and not in Ninja.

Yes, the latest version should work - here's more to consider:

    - do you have a backup file that you can restore from?

    - have you created a template, I wonder? - will this show the categories?

    - are there any old listings visible? - do they still show the categories?

    - if the last two show categories, try copying one and see if it saves...

    - if all else fails, contact eBid support

    best luck

My Ninja Lister is up to date. Thanks for your input Anniemmc though. Your reasoning seems to me the more logical answer to my question and problem.

    Hi,

Are you editing a listing that already had a category selected? From the title bar of the screenshots it seems you are within the Watches category already? Possibly a category that is now non-existent.

Can you try to list a brand new item and see if the same happens.

We are looking into this at the moment to see if we can replicate.

    Thanks for the input,
    Gazza

If you notice in the screenshot I am attaching, the title bar will display the "name" of the auction set in the "Watches" folder. The fact that the title bar appears to denote an eBid category, that is not correct. What the title bar displays in the Ninja Lister is the "name" of the auction in the auction set within the Watches folder.

Also, if you notice in the screenshot, I've uploaded auctions in the past with the other auction sets such as the "Software" auction set, the "Routers" auction set, the "Web Templates" auction set, the "Electronics" auction set, etc., etc., etc...

    Hi,

Can you check you have a file located at

    C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME\NinjaLister\eBidCat egoryList.xml

and that the file is not empty.

Try closing NL down and renaming this file and then reopening NL to see if it is updated.

    Thanks,

    eBidCategoryList.xml file empty.

Can anyone supply me with the list data including syntax?

No need to upload xml attachment. Just open xml file, select all text and paste in reply to this post.

    Would appreciate assistance greatly.

    Thanks in advance.
