Search Bar on home page not working for me

When I try to do a search on the home page for anything, I can type in the item (like YDC*) but when I click the search button, it doesn't do anything. Only my cursor arrow shows. When I am other places on the page, my cursor hand shows, meaning I can activate things. I mentioned this a few weeks ago.

New people, and people with small levels of patience for trying to figure work-arounds may give up before they start.

This has driven me mad this morning! Time it was fixed: newbies are just not going to bother looking for an alternative way to find what they are looking for.

I quite agree. I haven't been able to use the 'go' button on the search bar on my eBid page since the last upgrade ! I can only use that search box by hitting enter on my keyboard.

Yes, admin have been aware of the problem since that time - and of the cause (the GO button is being masked by an element higher in the page z-order so the button doesn't see the click, the masking element does).

Just another (though important) user interface issue they don't appear to have any interest in addressing.

It depends on the size of your viewport as to whether the masking of the button occurs. At some viewport widths the button is only partially obscured, at others it is fully obscured.

As the masking element has a transparent background it is hard to see which is happening; the click may be recognised or not.
