Those things you just listed that have mostly gone are possibly why people rely on the large supermarkets but they are people, not sheep.

I am now actually actively searching for supported accommodation for myself since it is likely I will need to move out of my flat within the next couple of years so that I don't need to personally rely on home deliveries.

I have told very few people on here why I need to think about this

the reason why they have gone is massive corporations undercut the small shopkeepers, the sheep did not support there local shops, when people get dressed up to go shopping and believe shopping is a social event then i will call them sheep, sad sheep,

I carried on supporting my local shops back in Gosport but they closed down anyway. Morrison became my corner shop as it was easy to walk to. I switched to mostly on-line shopping when I moved to the Eastbourne suburbs where there are no local businesses where I can buy groceries.
