Thread: Fees for non paid items

  1. #1

Default Fees for non paid items

    Hi All.
A question for the experienced sellers please.
I get probably 1 or 2 PAID sales a year.
BUT i get 2 or 3 times as many NON PAID items a year.
I am being charged for ALL sales,Even if i am not paid for the items.
The fees for the non paid items obviousy are far more that the paid items.
It's not even worth the time and effort to keep listing for the sales i do get.
now I find I have been charged for all the non sales.
Is this correct.Am i supposed to be charged for these non sales.
If so.It's time to remove my 2500+ items & shut shop.
Any advice or answers would be very appreciated. Thanks

You have to send the buyer two payment reminders after that you can mark the buyer as a NPB and two days after you will see in your AAL in the list a place to reclaim fees, no not mark them as sale cancelled though as with sale cancelled you can't claim your fees back.

    NPB procedure:

You will have the option to claim back your Final Value Fees 3 days after the second payment reminder in the After Auction Log has been posted.

You must have left Negative or Neutral feedback for the buyer and reported the bidder as a NPB (non paying bidder) in the AAL.

Can you explain a bit more about that part?

Hi.Do you mean I have to leave bad feedback for the non paying buyer before i can claim back the fees.I mark them all as npb's but i rarely leave them any feedback as most are zero feedback newbies who will probably never return. So pointless leaving them feedback.

The procedure that eBid requires you follow to reclaim FVFs is given at https://www.ebid.net/uk/help_after.php#faq-9

Their game, their rules. What you consider 'pointless' is irrelevant.

Note that fees for extras charged at time of listing (e.g. extra photos, second category, highlighted) are not refunded to the best of my knowledge.

When I have NPBs I follow the process found in the help pages as above, but don't usually leave any feedback for the same reason.

So long as the two reminders have been sent via the ASL... after three days you are then able to mark the buyer as a NPB and reclaim fees and relist the item again to get a real buyer!

It doesn't happen that often, but I believe sometimes a new buyer has difficulties setting up their account and payments.

I leave feedback for npbs to warn other sellers and I'd much appreciate it if you all did the same.
