    Thumbs down Sort Order

I know it has been mentioned before, but it still remains unsightly: namely when a search against a user's listings shows the categories in a random manner.

Also notice, when I'm not logged on as a user, that the listings default to show the price in US$ and then when you select an item the price default to the home country currency; eg £ sterling... not very consistent in my opinion and confusing to a first timer, I'm sure.

    Hi,

The sort order for categories in this situation is by most prominent first. A user can have thousands of items in many different categories.

Can you let us know the URL to a page where the pricing is shown incorrectly, we are unaware of any problems at the moment.

    Thx,
    Gazza

It is those categories that should show in alphabetical order - same as is shown for a shop category listing...

An example of the other concern: http://www.ebid.net/as/stores/one20postcards - where the price is shown in US$ - click an item and the price changes to £ Sterling: http://www.ebid.net/as/for-sale/suff...-145186825.htm

When I go to your link prices are shown to me in U.S. & when I click on an item I see the price in your currency as well as mine which is how it should be. £1.20 (US$1.71)

You're viewing the eBid Asia site, prices default to USD there.

From the viewpoint of someone who has listings in dozens of categories in five different stores. . . this would not be desirable to us. We deliberately make sure our listings are as varied as possible. We can show one each of many of the categories on the first page (which is as far as most people will go if nothing of interest shows). Someone interested in stamps will find one, open it, and then easily be able to look at only our stamps by selecting it from the store name and category at the top of that single listing.

With your plan, our stamps would not appear until around page 52 or 53, so an idle browser would not even realize we sell them.

If the pages appear unsightly, well, that's the way many of the stands look at our local swap meet. Messy, but browsing through them is part of the fun.

I think the present situation is quite logical. The categories which have the most items appear first.
