What super photo's - thanks for posting them
    !
Madelaine, I love the Wisteria. I would dearly love to have one with so many blooms. It is just simply beautiful.
I have a smallish gnarled trunk, never had one flower on it! Maybe one day .....
The lilies are just beautiful, I love them.
Your husband is right to be ruthless with the poppies - any with single blooms should be discarded as cross pollination could ruin your big pom-poms!

Old, gorgeous orchid pics - stunning sunset colours.

Welcome Shesawaya! Aww, what lovely pics of your doggie - too cute!
Good luck with your container gardening, it's becoming very popular I believe, especially so for homes without much garden space.
I see you have decided to get rid of a few opuntia! My old man has a passion for cacti, and has far too many taking up space in the greenhouse!

Here are a few pics of my flowers - they were taken a few weeks ago so are a bit 'dated!'

The fist one is my clematis 'Nelly Moser' - 2nd one is Aquilegia 'McKana's Giant' - 3rd one is honeysuckle - 4th one is freesia - 5th one is Mediterranean blue shrimp (Cerinthe major ‘Purpurascens’) - 6th one is Delphinium Gertrude sahin -

Trish - your flowers are so lovely - seems to me you must live in "heaven"!! One can never have too many flowers, IMO! I hope to have a 3 season garden eventually, something blooming all the time except in the dead of winter, of course. It just takes time as I have to bring in "good dirt".

I have 7 acres in the woods but only keep about 1 acre cleared for use. I also have two creeks and several natural springs, which I love but several times the creeks have overflowed and left their rocks every where!! This is the reason I am going to container gardening for my veggies & herbs. Tired of spring rains washing out my newly planted veggie starts and picking rocks!!

Time to get out and mow the grass......y'all have a great day - or evening, which ever the case may be

This orchid appeared in our lawn this year. It just appeared. We did not plant it. The lawn is over 30 years old.Name: DSC00144.jpg

That is amazing Tony, hope you're going to mow around it

Did a bit of research on the orchids of north Yorkshire & found a similar one photographed at Scarborough Castle called "The Common Spotted Orchid" a marsh orchid, the Dactylorhiza Fuchsii
Do you have any marsh land near you? As most orchid seed are spread on the wind, it would seem there must be some growing nearby.
Perhaps you've never seen them before because they get mown

Here is the first flower on the fourth flower branch. This orchid has flowered continuously since January 2014

We think it is the table - the aunt it belonged to before used to keep orchids on it.

You are right. Our plant is Dactylorhiza fuschsii. Despite its name it is common on some roadside verges and on the edges of forest rides in the area and does not require a marsh to grow. We saw the ones at Scarborough Castle today when we went to see the Kittiwakes nesting on the castle rock.

I'm sure your Aunt is looking after it Madelaine - then again, it could be the exact right location of the table that's doing the trick!
I've heard of Phals flowering for years - that spike doesn't look like it has suffered in any way for it, so it must like that spot for whatever reason.
