Welcome Shesawaya, glad to see you here & lookin' forward to your container garden when set up. More veggies the merrier
I see you have a Dingo/Heeler X great dog - top working dog & a very faithful protector/guard dog AND smart as a whip!
Does he/she throw towards the Dingo, or the red/blue cattle dog A pic would be nice!
    Cheers from Oz, Allen.

Thank you Allen, for such a warm welcome!

I too will be looking forward to my container garden being set up - LOL!!! It will probably take me all summer, as I've got over 2 dozen "lick tubs" (mineral supplements for cattle come in them) which will first be filled with large rocks to weight them down in case of flooding, then filled with about 4 cubic Ft of dirt. And will fill more if I can find them..... You ought to see my pile of dirt (decomposed sawdust from a local mill) I get to play in - lol!

Jake is sure a mamma's boy and it is well known in the area that "company" needs to stay in their car until I say it's okay - lol!! His mama was a red dingo heeler and his daddy was a reverse blue dingo heeler. I was hoping he would look like his daddy but he looks like a blue heeler with red heeler legs! Having had wolves in the past, I have been very careful not to encourage any dingo behavior, except when people pull into my drive unannounced.

The first pic is Jake when he came home at 4 weeks and the second is him now.

Fancy Poppy - grown first from seed taken from someone else's garden and then by weeding out any plant with ordinary flowers. This year they are all like this. Then two different day lilies - these go berserk in our garden and have to be divided almost every year. The last is a helleborine which has also gone berserk this year.

Must resurrect the pet pics thread...

Madelaine - you said "Fancy Poppy - grown first from seed taken from someone else's garden and then by weeding out any plant with ordinary flowers." I have never had any luck growing ordinary poppies from seed - do they need to be grown separate from other flowers?

The helleborine is awesome! I've never heard of it so had to look it up - do you know the Latin name for it, as everything that I found did not look like your picture?

Oldandintheway - hope you don't have any scars to prove it!!

Poppies just grow - but my husband has been ruthless with any which were not those glamourous ones - he just pulled up any plant which produced and ordinary flower and has been rewarded this year with all our poppy plants being like that (I'm sure they are technically "doubles" but that seems a small word for what we have there!)

Fantastic Poppy & day lilies, BUT I'm drooling over that Orchid - you are so lucky to have that growing "wild"

Thanks for the link - I did find those but they didn't quite look like the ones Madelaine has. Perhaps hers have just started to bloom and don't have as many flowers up the stem as the pic in the link? Living right at the edge of a big woods, I'm always on the lookout for shade loving flowers. Have not seen any of these in my woods though
