Thread: Souvenir Spoons

  1. #1

    Default Souvenir Spoons

I have a big box of souvenir spoons. There are hundreds of them. Some are old and silver plated.

I need to clear things out of the house, and I am thinking of taking them to the hospital thrift shop. It's likely that they will go to the dump after I donate them.

My question ... does anyone here collect them? Would anyone here be looking for any particular type or location, etc. of souvenir spoon?

If so, please let me know and I'll list for charity if I have it.

There are collectors in the UK of souvenir spoons Marie but, my guess is, they have to be 'special' before a UK buyer will take notice and obviously the title/description/price needs too stand out for bids/buys.

So, all I can suggest is research, especially if you have a spoon that you feel may be of interest to collectors.

So, it's either research or the thrift shop unfortunately OR a large bundle of souvenir spoons for charity on eBid.

There are crafters who use unique silverware to make wind chimes and other items. If you list by the dozen for a good price they might be attractive to them.

At one time I had over fifty of them listed. I had listed them individually. It was a time consuming process to list them ... using soda solution to remove tarnish and cleaning them, taking the photographs and using photo editing software, researching the item and starting price etc. I have researched sales on that other site and think that I understand the score.

    Anyway, thanks for the comments.
