listings missing listing relisted after being sold

last Xmas i deleted all my listings and started to relist from scratch to make sure no mistakes occured. This week i sold some buttons which were still in "the to list box" from last year. How did they list themselves? all i can think is that somehow these deleted items found their way back into system. Did something occur when the new system was put in place earlier this year? did deleted and sold items somehow get relisted automatically without us realising?

Ive got to the stage that every time i sell something i panic in case the above has occured.

Do i stock take like madelaine or do i list fresh stock to take advantage of the Xmas rush no time to do both.

That's why I started this stock take. But there is still the totals problem - how can I tell whether I've lost/gained a listing without keeping running totals for every category?

I'm not suggesting that anyone else do this ... but, I keep a spreadsheet of my listing totals. Number of listings / number of listings in the unsold folder / description of item / item number. Sometimes I've gotten mixed up and I've done an edit instead of using 'list similar'. Or, I've relisted and the item wasn't deleted from the unsold and so on. Everybody makes mistakes. Also, I'm not suggesting that anyone who has posted in this thread has made a mistake that resulted in the listings being off. For me, having the spreadsheet is the way that I try to keep myself organized.

I did just that for a while, but I hit upon the idea of bulk editing all my running items at regular intervals back to 10 autoreposts so nothing ends unless I end it or it sells.

It also seemed to me that eBid had settled and stopped losing stuff so I relaxed which was a big mistake - so I'll be back to the spreadsheet (however, the listing numbers problem refers)

I have now finished a complete stock check of my Yarnalong shop. At least 20 items which I had listed were no longer listed. A number were listed which I had sold.
I will now be keeping close watch (which means nothing will happen, of course, because computers, like kettles, know when they are being watched)

I've also noticed that some listings that should be in the archives aren't. They have just disappeared.

Example: Auction ID #38427070 - which was a soft toy Gorilla I sold to meebo1.

That's not the only one to vanish over the years.

Archives currently go back to Jan 2012. This will have been before that it seems.

i just went through my listings today and found 6 items listed that i had deleted and 1 i have sold. Now i have to get in touch with the buyer to say i no longer have it and wait for negative feedback

Now, keeping track is made very difficult by the totals problem mentioned above.

I've done nothing to my listings for a couple of hours and nothing has sold. I have 4565 listings running but the total in stores adds up to 4564. I have exported my listings and opened them with Excel. I then checked column C and all the listings are in shops. To add to the confusion, although all about me says that I have 116 listings in Prospect Hospice Collectables(and, indeed, that is the correct number), when I open the shop it says I have 136!

How am I supposed to keep track? And where is my extra item?

Had a quick check through your listings.

You currently have 4206 running on eBid. Your public listings are showing 4206. Your My eBid > Listings I'm Running are 4206. Your All-About-Me page is at 4206.
Your eBid Store listings are currently 4205 (added up manually from your eBid Stores on All-About_Me) .

Taking a quick browse through them all finds one listing not currently in an eBid Store http://uk.ebid.net/for-sale/50141913...-144294027.htm which accounts for the difference currently.

I know I sound like a broken record but please please please can you give us specific details of exactly the problem and we will take a look. It is a needle in a haystack otherwise. This goes for every problem anyone reposts to us.
