Do you want "Precancels" as a sub category under every country?
If not, that would mean that there would be a category with stamps from many countries.
If so, I don't think it would work. A lot of seller can't even put their stamps in the right date category within a country so what hope if there were to be a precancel category.

I would just put a sub category "precancel" under stamps. You could in turn put a country sub category under "precancel" such as United States, U.S. Territories, Belgium, Canada, France, Netherlands, Morocco. Currently we are all putting the word "PRECANCEL" in our descriptions to separate them out from the rests of stamps. If you do a search on precancel now, you will find only 100-200 listings. But as more of us move over from E-Bay where on a given day there are several thousand listings this will become a problem.

All countries have not issued precancel stamps. The countries that I named above are the main ones that I am aware of and a catch all "other countries" would work.

I do not see the point. I believe that these stamps should be listed under the country of issue with Precancel included in the title or description. I have just looked at TOS and the Belgian site and neither have Precancels as a seperate category under Stamps. The Belgian site does have Precancels as a subcategory of United States (for example) as it does for Perfins. TOS does not even have a Precancels subcategory for USA. Most collectors would look under the country of issue for Precancels, Perfins as well as "normal" stamps. A search should throw up all precancels if the word is included in the title.

Ultimately if this category was created sales would be lost, not gained. This applies to most of the category suggestions that I see on eBid.

Those who only collect pre cancels is a fairly niche market - they are used to keyword searching. But most of the stamp collectors would consider a purchase of pre cancels if it fits in with their collection in some way. So by having a separate category you can rule out a majority of people who may well purchase, just to target the few who would find the listings anyway because they will keyword search.

    Shiffert...

If you are a pre cancel selling specialist, then I would expect you to have a pre cancel category in your eBid store.......

But you haven't got a store? Why not? It is free, by not having one you will end up losing sales.

Categories within a store are far more important to a seller than the eBid categories ever will be.
