Thread: YDC Autism East Midlands

  1. #1

    Default YDC Autism East Midlands

Spent a nice hour this afternoon over at Autism East Midland's Enterprise Hub at Raines Avenue Worksop. Went over to present them with a cheque for £400, money raised by my YDC charity auctions here on ebid.net. The money will go towards a poly tunnel for their new unit here in Mansfield that opens later this year. The total was made up from last month's auction + from YDC128 plus a little top up from myself. Thanks once again to all who have bid on my auctions, your generosity is very much appreciated by all at Autism East Midlands.

What a lovely pic books, and jolly well done in raising so much cash for the new unit at Mansfield.
My hubby used to work at the Saxmundham Day Care Centre and when the new gardening project was opened it was so very heartwarming to see how much the clients enjoyed growing fruit and flowers and tending the gardens.
Thank-you so much for sharing your photo and news that YDC monies raised have and will bring happiness to many.

Hi Meebo, Trish is right. Sorry for not getting back sooner I have been at work. The new unit is currently being furnished and set up. It should hopefully be ready for the first lot of service users to move in next month. As well as the gardening project there will be areas for, making garden furniture, up-cycling old furniture, leather work, a pottery kiln, needlecrafts, card making & computer skills. So there will something for anyone whatever their skill levels. Exciting times, though also expect it to be quite stressful for some who do not work well with change. The staff however are excellent and many will be moving over at the same time.

Once the raised beds and poly tunnel is in place I will get some photos to upload.
