I also received a lovely card from them. The Laurencekirk Thursday Group held an auction and raised £67 pounds, which was made up to £70 and I have sent this to Cheaver. Thank you to all who participated

Hi Penni, how lovely of Mearns Academy to send us both cards. The money has just come through fine. Wow! What a fabulous extra contribution from The Laurencekirk Thursday Group. This makes the whopping total for the Mearns Academy Defibrillator £750.00.Originally Posted by Maelbrigda

edit: It should also be mentioned that The Laurencekirk Thursday Group supported fantastically during YDC 131 too with the extra sales money that was sent (part of the £580.00). What a big-hearted group of folk they all are.

Just an update as I have received an email from Mearns Academy today ~ they look to be close to sending me their financial details for money transfer (wonderful!) and they are very grateful for our efforts as you can see:

Yes!I've just received an email from Mearns Academy with the necessary financial details and assurance that the money we raised will be used for Defibrillator purchase. I have forwarded the email to the Trustees and requested them to send the £750.00 raised via Bank Transfer rather than send a cheque as School could not administrate a cheque until August 17th due to School Holidays.
If they do decide to have a Defib presentation I have told them I will do my best to attend.
